Lab for the Acoustic Window Project

Cary Cluett

August 7, 2015

Cluett explores acoustics of space inside a 26-foot moving truck.  This project is the first iteration of a study where Cluett attemps to isolate visual space and acoustic space through reflectivity, sound absoption and air flow.  His goal is to create two small chambers, with an open window between them.  Visual contact can be made between the chambers through the open window, but Cluett's special acoustic design aims to prevent auditory transmission, creating a disconnect between visual and auditory information relative to natural perception.
