Ralph T. Coe Center for the Arts, opening reception for IMPRINT
1590 B Pacheco Street, Aspen Plaza, Santa Fe, NM

IMPRINT is a multi-layered collaborative exhibition that challenges our assumptions about how art engages with the public. The relationship of the imprint between artist and audience is emotional and transcends markets, sales, and high-stakes auctions.  IMPRINT is organized by The Ralph T. Coe Center for the Arts and curated by Bess Murphy and Nina Sanders.

Santa Fe’s mobile art space, Axle Contemporary will present part of this exhibition as THE IMPRINTMOBILE, from August 3rd – 26th.  Axle increases the flexibility of approach and outreach that is fundamental to this exhibition, and will bring artworks across the city of Santa Fe and beyond. The six artists will exhibit limited-edition prints, distribute free broadside prints, wheat-paste the exterior of the vehicle, and use the mobile exhibition space in unexpected ways to engage the wide audience that Axle reaches in the diverse public spaces of the region.

IMPRINT presents the work of artists Eliza Naranjo Morse, Jamison Chās Banks, Jason Garcia, Terran Last Gun, Dakota Mace, and Jacob Meders.  The exhibition will not only appear on the Coe Center walls, but in public spaces as well. IMPRINT brings art to the public and the public to art in widely accessible ways through the use of repurposed newspaper boxes, wheat-pasted posters around town, and free print giveaways.
