Franco Andres

A Situation For Open Possibilities

Feb 3-26

A Situation For Open Possibilities is an installation assembled from pre-existing manufactured items which Franco has arranged to tell an open-ended story. The work is completed by the individual relationship of each viewer to the objects.  For the opening night of this exhibition, Franco engaged the audience with a performance, investigating a relationship dynamic by invoking a dialogue which casts both the artist and audience as protagonist and antagonist.

You've done this.

You've done this to me.

I do this to you.

Franco Andres is a sculptor. He crafts and assembles his objects from a combination of manufactured and natural items, investigating and invoking both the inherent nature of the material and the socio-cultural meaning invoked. Andres holds a BFA in Studio Arts from Santa Fe University of Art and Design, is a SITE Scholar, and a Post-Graduate Fellow at the Santa Fe Art Institute.
